Covid-19 oil price war could derail project sanctions
The effect of the COVID-19 virus on global demand for oil and gas, along with an ongoing price war that has sent oil prices tumbling at an unprecedented rate, are poised to wreak havoc on new project development plans for this year. According to an impact analysis from Rystad Energy, exploration and production (E&P) companies are likely to reduce project sanctioning by up to USD 131bn, or about 68% year-on-year, as they batten down the hatches to weather the storm. KSB slurry pumps in FGD systems to reduce emissions
KSB manufacturers of pumps and industrial valves has reiterated its support towards the government’s efforts in reducing sulphur content in the flue gas emission by 30-35% from 2005 level by 2030. This is agreed at COP 21 Summit (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) in Paris. Landia bags pump and mixer orders in Malaysia during Covid
Landia has won new contracts to supply pumps for a new biogas project in Japan, and submersible mixers for an industrial WWTP in Malaysia. During the coronavirus lockdown, the Danish company has been keeping busy behind the scenes.
Now, as Denmark begins to reopen, Landia is looking to the future.Landia has also recently secured an order to provide submersible chopper pumps for an expanding pig farm project in China, and has a new order from the Dominican Republic for its recirculation pumps.
SPX Flow sold Power and Energy business
SPX Flow Inc has completed the sale of its Power and Energy segment to funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management Inc.
The sale is part of SPX Flow’s strategy to focus on process solutions for essential sanitary and industrial process markets. Approximately 50% of SPX Flow’s sales are now in sanitary markets such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, water and personal care and 50% in industrial markets such as specialty chemical processing, air treatment and mining. Andritz to supply system for Chinese paper mill
Andritz is to provide a complete 305 bdmt/d stock preparation line for Kookil Paper (Zhangjiagang) Ltd Corp’s mill in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, China.
The new line, which will process NBKP (Needle Bleached Kraft Pulp) and LBKP (Leaf Bleached Kraft Pulp) market pulp bales, includes Andritz FibreSolve FSV pulpers and four Andritz TwinFlo double disc refiners.
Start-up is scheduled for the first quarter of 2021.
Ebara collaborates with Honda in Brazil
Ebara Bombas América do Sul Ltda (EBAS) is providing the pumps for a new range of engine driven cast iron pump products that Honda Motor Co Ltd has launched in Brazil. Ebara and Honda have both had manufacturing operations in Brazil since the 1970s but this is the first time that the two Japanese companies have worked together. Read More …….

Andritz to provide dewatering technology for Austrian mill
Andritz is to supply a vertical screw thickener (VST) dewatering system, including an MC pump, for the RMP (refiner mechanical pulp) process at Mayr-Melnhof Karton’s mill in Frohnleiten, Austria. The Andritz system also has a dilution conveyor, MC pump including standpipe and a TurboMix agitator. Aramco proposed refinery in Maharashtra
The Saudi Aramco-led consortium is in talks with the government for the allotment of land for the proposed Rs 4 lakh crore mega refinery and petrochemicals complex in Maharashtra.
Saudi Aramco and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company hold a 50% stake in the project with the rest is held by IOCL, HPCL, and BPCL. IOCL holds a 25% stake in the project while HPCL and BPCL hold 12.5% stake each.
Ratnagiri Refinery & Petrochemicals Company Ltd (RRPCL) has been set up to execute the world’s largest integrated refinery- cum-petrochemicals complex.

PSUs restart Oil projects as lockdown restrictions ease
State-owned oil firms will resume as many as 511 projects involving over Rs 42,000 crore of investment with immediate effect as the country partially exited from an unprecedented nationwide lockdown.
Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC), Indian Oil Corp (IOC), GAIL, Oil India Ltd and six other public sector firms identified projects that either in rural areas or have in situ labour for the resumption of work, oil ministry sources said. Read More ……
