Xylem partners with Lorentz on solar-powered pumping systems
Xylem Inc has entered into a global distribution agreement with German solar water pump manufacturer Lorentz to expand the availability of solar-powered pumping systems around the world.
Under the agreement Lorentz will supply Xylem with solar-powered and solar/grid hybrid pumping systems. In addition, Lorentz technology will be used to augment solutions in Xylem’s existing portfolio, and the companies will collaborate to develop new Xylem products. Both companies will continue to serve their respective market segments and maintain their existing distribution networks.
Tsurumi adding manufacturing capacity in Japan
Tsurumi is building a new manufacturing plant at its headquarters in Kyoto, Japan that will initially concentrate on electric motors. Tsurumi already manufactures around 110,000 motors per year. Concentric awarded EHS pump order from electric bus OEM
Concentric AB has secured a SEK7 million order for its next-generation Electro Hydraulic Steering (EHS) pump from a European electric bus OEM.
The new generation of EHS units are fitted with Concentric’s state of the art Internal Gear Pump (IGP), which is optimised to meet low noise steering system requirements, in one compact design. The IGP has been designed for both low-pressure transmission and high-pressure hydraulic circuits and is used, among other mobile and stationary applications, in electric buses and trucks.

Finish Thompson buys Penguin Pumps
Finish Thompson Inc has acquired southern California-based Penguin Pumps Inc, parent company of Filter Pump Industries. Penguin manufactures corrosion-resistant pumps, mixers, filter systems, and filter chambers primarily used in the surface finishing, chemical processing, and chemical manufacturing industries.
Penguin Pumps will give Finish Thompson a full offering of filtration systems, supported by Finish Thompson’s range of mag-drive centrifugal pumps. Additionally, Penguin Pumps’ vertical plastic pumps and tank and drum mixers complement Finish Thompson’s line of horizontal centrifugal pumps, air-operated double diaphragm pumps (FTI Air), and drum pumps.
HVAC companies for California’s goal of 6 million heat pumps
Ten of the world’s largest manufacturers, distributors and suppliers of building heating and cooling equipment have signed an agreement committing to actions to help California achieve its goal to have six million electric heat pumps installed by 2030.

Andritz to acquire Flowserve’s NAF valve business
Andritz has signed an agreement with Flowserve Corporation to acquire its NAF AB valve business. Headquartered in Linköping, Sweden, NAF engineers, designs and builds Flowserve’s NAF control valve portfolio for pulp and paper and other related industries. The company has been providing process control valves for more than 100 years.
Andritz has been equipping its production plant and equipment deliveries with NAF control valves for many years. This acquisition further extends and strengthens Andritz’s product and service portfolio in process control.
Torishima pumps for subsea desalination systems in Norway
Torishima Pump Mfg Co Ltd has entered into a collaboration agreement with Norway’s Waterise to provide the main pumping equipment for its subsea desalination plants. Waterise will design, install and operate subsea reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plants, which use hydrostatic pressure to push seawater through membranes creating permeate water. This will be pumped to the shore by the Torishima pumps from the Waterise subsea desalination module. Read More ……
Boskalis orders hopper dredger from Royal IHC
Boskalis has signed a contract with Dutch shipbuilding company Royal IHC to build a large state-of-the-art trailing suction hopper dredger. The vessel will have a hopper capacity of 31,000 m3 and will be one of the largest trailing suction hopper dredgers in the Boskalis fleet. Read More …….
