Sulzer to write off assets in Russia and Poland

Following Sulzer’s decision to exit the Russian market and close its Polish businesses, the company has decided to write off most of its assets in the two countries.
Sulzer expects a one-time impact of CHF125 million–CHF135 million at current foreign exchange rates. CHF125m will be recognized in the first half of 2022.
The one-time asset write-offs will have no significant impact on Sulzer’s operational results

Atlas Copco to acquire Chinese  & US vacuum pump companies

Atlas Copco is acquiring the assets of Shandong Jinggong Pump Co Ltd, a Chinese developer and manufacturer of liquid ring vacuum pumps and systems mainly used in the chemical and other general industries.
Headquartered in Zibo, in China’s Shandong province, Shangdong Jinggong Pump operates under the brand name Chinco. The company was founded in 1998 and has 100 employees. In 2021, Shangdong Jinggong Pump had revenues of approximately US$12 million.
The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2022.  Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire National Vacuum Equipment Inc, a US manufacturer of industrial vacuum pumps and packages for mobile use on tanker trucks.
Headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan, National Vacuum Equipment employs around 100 people.
When the acquisition closes, National Vacuum will become part of the Industrial Vacuum Division, within Atlas Copco’s Vacuum Technique business area.

DESMI  to sell majority stake to private equity firm

The Danish pump manufacturer DESMI has signed a definitive agreement to sell a majority share to middle market private equity firm One Equity Partners (OEP).
Founded in 1834 and headquartered in Nørresundby, Denmark, DESMI manufactures pumps, pumping systems, environmental cleaning equipment and related products and services for end-markets including marine and offshore, industrial, utility, defence and fuel. The company has operations across 20 countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North America and Africa and employs nearly 1,000 people. DESMI’s pumps and systems are sold to more than 150 countries through a network of subsidiaries and distributors across six continents.  

Metso Outotec to supply €100mn equipment package  in Uzbekistan

Metso Outotec has signed a contract worth more than €100 million to deliver key process technology, including slurry pumps, to Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Co’s MOF3 Copper-Gold-Molybdenum concentrator complex in Almalyk, in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan.  Read More …….
