Sulzer is expanding its US-based water business, where it has committed to spending more than CHF10 million for product manufacturing and testing. The company has recently commissioned operations in Portland, Oregon, where it is assembling and testing large water pumps. The Portland facility has one of the largest pump-testing basins in North America.
Sulzer is also expanding its manufacturing site in Easley, South Carolina. Assembly at the Easley site will be extended with new product lines including high-efficiency wastewater pumps.
Alongside the two facility expansions, Sulzer is also strengthening its US supply chain across its portfolio of US assembled products to provide lead time improvements and comply with Build America Buy America (BABA) funding requirements.
Sulzer has over 2,000 employees across 32 locations in the US. In addition to its Sulzer-branded products, some of its specialized water-related brands with US presence and BABA-compliant products include Johnston pumps, JWC Environmental and Nordic Water.
