AUMA presents CORALINK digital ecosystem

AUMA presents its CORALINK digital ecosystem, marking a further investment in enhanced digital solutions by the electric actuator manufacturer.
CORALINK provides closely networked support solutions for AUMA actuators. It helps plant operators to cope with growing challenges, supporting them across all phases of the plant’s lifecycle, from commissioning and predictive maintenance to active lifecycle management of their AUMA actuators. Modules including the AUMA Assistant App, AUMA CDT, and AUMA Cloud interact seamlessly to help plant operators cut costs and enhance plant availability.
At the heart of CORALINK is the ability to evaluate the extensive operating data that AUMA actuators record automatically in their role as intelligent field devices. The data can easily be read from each AUMA actuator, including via a smartphone, and then analysed.  CORALINK saves time and money even when operators simply use it to check the condition of individual actuators. In advanced applications, CORALINK can be used for comprehensive monitoring of all the actuators on a plant, as well as to implement IIoT solutions.
AUMA provides CORALINK free of charge in a very comprehensive basic version. The modules run on standard PCs and smartphones and need no extra investment in IT infrastructure.

Rotork  actuators for Norway project & Turkey

Rotork electric actuators selected for Norwegian ‘next generation’ carbon capture storage project.  Rotork has been awarded a contract to supply IQ3 and Skilmatic SI range actuators to an essential and unique industrial decarbonisation project in Norway.
Northern Lights is developing the world’s first open-source CO2 transport and storage infrastructure.
Skilmatic SI actuators were selected for CO2 storage tank applications at the onshore receiving terminal; the actuators feature smart technology so that in the event of an Emergency Shutdown (ESD) valves will close to protect the system. IQ3 actuators will operate shut-off valves along the pipeline when required, in line with stringent safety system requirements.
Rotork Electric actuators have been installed at a glass factory in Turkey, allowing for efficient combustion and reduction of emissions.  A glass plant in the Mersin area of southern Turkey  installed 33 ROMpak electric actuators. The ROMpak units replaced existing underperforming actuators to operate butterfly valves, controlling the flow of hot air at the heart of the glass manufacturing process.

Rotork actuators installed at wastewater plant

Rotork IQ actuators have been installed at a wastewater pumping station in Hong Kong. They were upgraded from older manual-operated valves to electric actuators with intelligent functionality built in.
Nearly 50 actuators have been installed to operate the valves; IB multi-turn gearboxes combined with IQ actuators are being used on penstocks and gate valves on-site. IQM actuators from the IQ3 range have been installed on the balancing tank system and wastewater gas system. The IQM is the modulating duty version of the IQ 3-phase electric actuator, which features a solid-state reversing starter in place of the electro-mechanical contactors to allow faster response to changing position signals.
The intelligent IQ actuators are ideally suited to pumping station applications due to their robust environmental sealing. They have a double-sealed enclosure (IP66/68) and are therefore ideally suited for water applications. Featuring highly reliable absolute position sensors and an intuitive user interface, the IQ actuators were selected to provide intelligent, automated valve operation
