Oliver Valves secure £890k order for modular wellsites
Oliver Valves secured a GBP 890,000 order to supply Double Block and Bleed valves in Alloy 625 material with a reduced overall length of 240mm and are to be fitted to Modular Wellsite Packages.
Wellsite packages are integrated skid-based units that house all the equipment between the Christmas tree and the production header. The skids are expected to be installed near the respective wellheads to control the flow and pressure of oil or gas. They include; wellhead shutdown panels to control the wellhead valves and power distribution system with single phase and 3-phase power distributed to modules across the well site. A huge chemical injection system for flowline protection against corrosion, sampling pots to facilitate fluid sampling, and flow lines fitted with instrumentation valves that measure temperature and pressure.
Oliver Valves is to manufacture 240 custom-made valves that are to be shipped to the site over the next few weeks.
Skanska awarded USD 113m contract
Skanska has secured a contract from LGAFUEL LLC to spearhead the USD 113 million construction project aimed at revamping LaGuardia Airport’s fuel transmission systems in Queens, New York. This initiative is poised to significantly enhance the airport’s fuel network, streamlining the process of fuel transfer to and from aircraft stationed at the hub.
The project entails the construction of 11,000 feet of two parallel jet fuel transmission lines, as well as the installation of electrical and communication duct banks, below-ground isolation valve vaults, and cathodic protection systems. Furthermore, Skanska will undertake modifications to LaGuardia’s existing civil, utilities, electrical, and communication duct banks, along with infrastructure adjustments to support the operations and maintenance of the hydrant fueling system.
Skanska’s involvement underscores its reputation for delivering transformative infrastructure solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of modern airports. As LaGuardia Airport undergoes substantial upgrades, Skanska’s expertise will play a pivotal role in enhancing the hub’s functionality, thereby positioning it for sustained growth and success.
SISTO Armaturen S.A to supply valves in Germany
Luxembourg-based SISTO Armaturen S.A., a key member of the esteemed KSB Group, has been awarded a significant contract to supply valves for a groundbreaking pilot electrolyser project in Herne, Germany. This pivotal initiative is part of a joint effort by Evonik and Siemens Energy under the collaborative banner of H2annibal.
SISTO Armaturen S.A. will contribute a range of valves, including pneumatically actuated SISTO-20 diaphragm valves and SISTO-RSK swing check valves, meticulously selected for their suitability for the unique requirements of the pilot electrolyser. Operating on the proton exchange membrane (PEM) principle, the electrolyser demands precision and reliability, qualities exemplified by SISTO’s valve solutions.
The SISTO-20 diaphragm valves, tailored for the electrolyser’s specifications, feature a design that minimizes contact between the fluid and valve components, ensuring durability and optimal performance. With a focus on longevity, these valves boast rear support for the diaphragm, enhancing their service life—a critical factor in electrolysis operations.
OHL supplies special valves in China
OHL Gutermuth has recently overseen the production of specialized valves tailored for a pioneering research initiative, capable of withstanding extreme temperatures reaching up to +2000°C. These hot gas valves constitute a crucial component required by the Chinese Institute of Thermophysics for their aircraft engine testing apparatus.
Building upon a longstanding partnership with a Chinese counterpart, OHL Gutermuth has been entrusted with the fabrication of two unique hot gas valves for the latest research venture. The professors leading the project have placed their confidence in OHL Gutermuth’s expertise, a testament to the company’s reputation for excellence in industrial valve manufacturing.
For this particular endeavor, OHL Gutermuth has collaborated with a renowned manufacturer for the first time, underscoring a successful partnership poised to facilitate future joint ventures. These specially engineered hot gas valves, with a nominal width of DN 280, have been meticulously crafted to endure gas pressures of up to 40 bar, temperatures soaring to 2000°C, and gas flow rates of up to 70 kg/s.
Drawing upon proven design principles, the hot gas valves adapted for the thermophysical project are already in use across Europe for turbine testing, underscoring their reliability and efficiency. As OHL Gutermuth continues to push the boundaries of industrial valve innovation, this collaboration not only serves as a milestone in technological advancement but also lays the groundwork for future collaborative endeavors.
Oliver Twinsafe to supply valves for MEG
Oliver Twinsafe to supply Double Block and Bleed pipeline valves for use on Monoethylene glycol (MEG) injection pump systems. MEG is a widely used hydrate inhibitor designed to reduce the risk of hydrate formation in pipelines that could cause blockages.
The order includes a batch of 2 1/16” API 6A 5000psi Double Block and Bleed valves in A182 F55 Super Duplex material that have been dynamically tested to meet the requirements of API 6A PSL level 3. In addition, the valve designs were pre-qualified to API 6A PR2 Appendix F, which involves multiple cycle testing at low, ambient, and high temperatures with zero leakage allowed across the valve seats throughout these cycles.
Several Oliver instrumentation valves have also been ordered, taking the total number of valves supplied for this offshore project overall to over 300 with more valves in the pipeline.
Atlas Copco completes acquisition of Kracht GmbH
Kracht GmbH has officially become part of the Atlas Copco Group.
A manufacturer of several technologies, including external gear pumps, fluid measurement, valves, hydraulic drives, and dosing systems, Kracht joins Atlas Copco with a global footprint.
The company’s headquarters are based in Werdhol, Germany, with its subsidiaries spanning the US, China, and Hungary. Kracht has around 440 employees to operate these locations.
Atlas Copco first announced its intention to acquire Kracht in December 2023. At the time, Andrew Walker, President of Atlas Copco’s power technique business area, said the industrial pump segment would be a strategic fit for the group.
Kracht is now part of the Power and Flow Divisions within Atlas Copco’s power technique business area.
NAF control valves now part of ANDRITZ
ANDRITZ has acquired control valves from NAF to be produced under ANDRITZ’s Intelligent Instruments Portfolio.
ANDRITZ has successfully equipped its production plant and equipment deliveries with NAF control valves for many years. With this acquisition, the valves will be part of the ANDRITZ Intelligent Instruments portfolio, Smart Series. The NAF valves will be seamlessly integrated into the ANDRITZ Metris Asset Management suite, which provides automated monitoring of control valves to maximize plant uptime and operational stability.
Bosch Rexroth and Petrolvalves sign MoU
Bosch Rexroth AG and PetrolValves S.p.A. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on the electrification of subsea process valves with high Safety Integrity Level requirements, such as Subsea Safety Isolation Valves (SSIV). Both companies are already working on a solution that connects PetrolValves subsea valves with the Rexroth actuator eSEA Drive. Operation and control are carried out via a simple 24 V DC electric power supply. The new development will reduce the investment and operating costs of subsea systems for the storage of captured carbon (CCS/CCUS) and for the safe transport of green hydrogen (H2) produced offshore using renewable energy.
VSI-PetrolValves supplies control valves in Italy
VSI-PetrolValves supplied the control valves for the first CO2 battery plant in Italy, which is an innovative, efficient, cost-effective thermodynamic process that uses CO2 in a closed loop to store electricity.
With a proven track record of over 40 years in CO2 compression, PetrolValves designed the specific valves for the CO2 Battery plant in order to get reliable and precise control and grant efficient plant operations.

FLS receives 2 Middle East project awards |
Flowserve Corporation (FLS), renowned globally for its flow control products and services, has unveiled the acquisition of over $150 million in bookings from two distinguished engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors. Liquiteck announces acquisition by Laurentide Controls
Laurentide Controls, the largest supplier of industrial process automation solutions in Eastern Canada, announced the acquisition of Liquiteck, a prominent industrial pump distributor.
This acquisition represents the latest step in Laurentide’s growth, consolidating its position as a major player in the changing industrial ecosystem. As the Emerson Impact Partner for its territory, Laurentide’s core offering consists of process valves, instrumentation, process automation software and industrial reliability solutions including training.
Liquiteck specializes in pumps, system design, and pump repairs, serving heavy industry, commercial and municipal clients. In operation since 1995, it will continue to operate under the Liquiteck name and will keep both its Valleyfield and Val d’Or facilities while benefitting from shared administrative services within Laurentide’s Kirkland, QC headquarters.
Atlas Copco completes Presys Co. acquisition
The acquisition of Presys Co., Ltd has been completed and the company has become part of the Atlas Copco Group. The company provides vacuum valves for the semiconductor market.
Presys Co., Ltd. is a privately owned company with 134 employees, located in Suwon, Republic of Korea. In 2022 the company had revenues of approximately MKRW 35,000 (MSEK 275*, approx. 23.7M EUR).
The purchase price is not disclosed.The business has become part of the Semiconductor Chamber Solutions Division within the Vacuum Technique Business Area.
L&T wins major onshore gas pipeline project
Larsen & Toubro’s Hydrocarbon vertical, known as L&T Energy Hydrocarbon (LTEH), has recently achieved a significant milestone by securing a major onshore gas pipeline project from a prestigious client based in the Middle East.
The project entails a comprehensive scope of work, including the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of two new 56″ pipelines, alongside the installation of associated scraper receivers, launchers, and mainline isolation valve (MLIV) Stations. These crucial components will run parallel to the existing pipeline corridor, enhancing infrastructure capabilities and operational efficiency.

Atlas Copco Group acquires Zahroof Valves |
Atlas Copco Group has completed the acquisition of Zahroof Valves Inc. (Zahroof), based in Houston, Texas. Zahroof specializes in the design, servicing, and assembly of reciprocating compression valve technology.
Established in 2010, Zahroof offers compressor valves utilizing modular reed valve technology. The flagship StraightFlo valve, serving as a drop-in replacement for compressor valves, features replaceable reed valve modules to ensure a streamlined gas flow path. Its innovative design incorporates standard and interchangeable modules held stationary between the valve seat and carrier.
Zahroof provides eight standard modules in three materials, sharing identical external dimensions, to accommodate the diverse speed range and operating conditions of existing industrial compressors. Modules are selected based on the operating conditions of the cylinder, ensuring interchangeability across valves of various sizes and types, whether suction or discharge.
Joining the Compressor Technique Business Area under Atlas Copco Compressors LLC, Zahroof becomes part of a comprehensive portfolio encompassing industrial compressors, gas and process compressors and expanders, air and gas treatment equipment, and air management systems. This acquisition represents the fifth addition to the Compressor Technique Business Area in just three months, underscoring Atlas Copco’s commitment to expanding its presence and offerings in the industrial compressor market.
