Grundfos has finalized the acquisition of the US water and wastewater treatment solutions company Newterra from the private equity firm Frontenac.
Pittsburgh-based Newterra designs, engineers, manufactures, and services environmental, water, and wastewater treatment solutions for municipal and industrial customers across diverse applications including drinking water, industrial process water, wastewater, stormwater, and remediation. Newterra has four production sites in the US and Canada, located in San Luis Obispo, California; Heber Springs, Arkansas; Chaska, Minnesota; and Brockville, Ontario.
The acquisition of Newterra underscores Grundfos’ commitment to expanding its water treatment and wastewater solutions capabilities as well as the Danish company’s strategic ambition to grow its presence in the US and Canadian markets.
With the inclusion of Newterra, Grundfos’ water treatment business will now have more than 1,500 employees across Europe and North America and revenues of more than US$350 million.
