KBL supplied fire-fighting pump sets for deployment along the 9-km tunnel, which is the world’s longest motorable tunnel. The Atal Tunnel situated at Rohtang, Manali in Himachal Pradesh was opened to public use recently.
The strategically important all-weather Atal Tunnel connects Manali to Leh and is located in the PirPanjal range of Himalayas at an altitude of 10,000 feet above the sea level. The tunnel is an engineering marvel and a distinguished example of ‘Make in India’ success.
