The state-of-the-art pumps manufactured by Kirloskar Ebara Pumps Limited (KEPL) using titanium GR-12 metal at its biorefinery in
Assam will further strengthen the plant. KEPL manufactured the pumps
using state-of-the-art technology and in-depth research and successfully
installed them at the biorefinery in Assam.
This will further boost the production of ethanol from bamboo in biorefineries. KEPL used a
specific system to install the pump in this project. All these pumps are
made of titanium.
The pumps have been researched and developed at KBL's
Kirloskarwadi plant in Maharashtra and after successful trials, they have
been installed at the biorefinery in Assam.
Titanium is a versatile metal known for its high strength, weight
tolerance, and excellent corrosion resistance. Due to this, it is working
very well as a carrier of various chemicals in the biorefinery. The bio-
refining project in Assam is very important for India. It will focus on
producing ethanol and other useful chemicals from bamboo and using
them in fuel production. This project will inspire other similar projects in
India.
