Flowserve valves selected for chemical recycling plant

Flowserve Corporation was awarded a contract to provide control and ball valves to OMV’s chemical recycling demonstration plant in the city of Schwechat, Austria, located approximately 16 km (10 miles) southeast of Vienna. The OMV demonstration plant will employ its patented ReOil® technology to convert plastic waste into synthetic feedstock, which can then be used to produce base chemicals and plastics for all types of applications, including packaging for the food industry and medical products. The facility, which has a design capacity of 16,000 tons per year, is expected to be in operation in 2023. Based on the results of this demonstration plant, OMV will implement a permanent, industrial-scale plant with operations planned for 2026.

Oliver Valves cuts DBB valve costs for S. Aramco

Oliver Valves Middle East distributor, GAS (Gas Arabian Services), won a half-million-pound order, it was Oliver’s Solution-Driven approach and distributor support that helped secure a second order in as many months.
When GAS received the second enquiry for 150 x Double Block and Bleed Valves, they contacted Oliver Valves, and together we looked at ways to further reduce the cost to the end-user, Saudi Aramco.
With state-of-the-art Research & Development facilities in the UK, company’s  engineering team soon jumped at the challenge. The brief to R&D was simple – save the customer money, even if it meant re-designing a DBB valve. Oliver’s engineers found the perfect cost-saving solution; to reduce the face-to-face dimensions of the valve by as much as 17%. This equated to saving the customer an additional 10% – hugely significant for this size of the order.

Baker Hughes bags pressure relief valves contract

Petrobras is building a new platform with a capacity to process 180,000 barrels of oil per day and 7.2 million cubic meters of gas per day. The platform is an FPSO type, a floating unit that produces, stores, and transfers oil. The delivery is scheduled for 2025. SAIPEM & DSME had been awarded USD 2.3bn for the supply of P-79 to be installed in Búzios field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt area. In the development of the EPC, SAIPEM awarded Baker Hughes over 250 Consolidated™ Pressure Relief Valves including high pressure API 10/15k valves. In addition, it is currently bidding the second batch of Pressure Relief Valves including more than 10 x API valves.

Tencarva acquires Fischer Process Industries

Tencarva Machinery Company (Tencarva), the Southeast’s premier value-added distributor of flow control and process equipment solutions and services to the industrial and municipal end-markets, announced that it has acquired Fischer Process Industries (Fischer Process), a distributor of pumps, valves, and process equipment. Control Seal delivers two 4-way diverter valve

Control Seal recently delivered two 10″ and one 6″ 4-Way Diverter Valve to the Middle East for a custody transfer metering system. The 10″ 4WDV has an RB of 300# class, raised face. The body material was ASTM 216WCC, coupled with an electric actuator. Control Seal’s 4WDV is known for being able to cycle day and night without any leakage thanks to its friction-free opening and closing mechanism. Furthermore, it boasts a rapid operation of 4-10 seconds cycling in meter proving systems.
The integrity of Control Seal 4WDVs is ensured by 2 methods-
Automatic pressure gauge for local monitoring and differential pressure switch for remote monitoring and with the possibility to integrate with other electric devices.

ROSEN Group secures five-year contract

ROSEN Group has won three packages for the five years Pan Malaysia for Pipeline In-Line Inspection Services for PETRONAS Group of Companies and Petroleum Arrangement Contractor (PACs) (Pan Malaysia ILI) contract. The contract includes ROSEN Group in Malaysia via H. Rosen Engineering Sdn Bhd with approximately 200 pipelines for inspection in the five years with diameters ranging from 4 to 48 inches. The contract covers nationwide and cross-country pipelines with Thailand and Singapore.
This contract will be utilizing Magnetic Flux Leakages (MFL) and Ultrasonic (UT) as the main technology for the inspection.
ROSEN Kuala Lumpur is the headquarters for ROSEN Asia Pacific with a success record of completing inspection projects over 100,000 km of pipeline in most countries in the region

Limitorque  Actuators at Drouin treatment plant

Limitorque QX series actuators were used on a recent $55 million dollar upgrade to the the Gippsland Water Drouin treatment plant. The actuators were fitted to AVFI Pty Ltd Butterfly valves on the Blower project, The Limitorque QX actuators were chosen due to their uncompromised reliability and performance.

Rotork intelligent actuation at water centre in England

IQ3 actuators from Rotork have improved and modernised the flow control system at a white water centre in the northeast of England, UK.
The penstocks on-site feed the water course with river water, prevent seawater from entering the park at high tide (seawater is undesirable for white water users and will lead to equipment corrosion), and maintain water levels into the park to prevent it from flooding in extreme weather conditions. The old control system was hydraulically operated and was proving unreliable. The customer chose to upgrade to IQ3 actuators, Rotork’s flagship intelligent electric actuator. IQ3 actuators have high degrees of environmental protection and water ingress protection. They have a double-sealed enclosure (IP66/68) and are therefore ideally suited for water applications.
The replacement system supplied by Rotork includes both a mechanical interface and electrical control system. IQ3 actuators with Modbus TCP (via a Mitsubishi PLC) and vandal proof covers, Rotork IB gearboxes, electrical/control cabling, pedestals, a replacement electrical distribution switch, and an ethernet switch were all supplied to the site. One of the penstocks and its actuator is difficult to access, so Rotork Site Services supplied a Rotork Remote Hand Station for an operator to control the actuator while standing up to 100 metres away, with access to a duplicate screen.

Fluor awarded contract by New Fortress Energy

Fluor Corporation (FLR) was awarded a full notice-to-proceed (FNTP) contract by New Fortress Energy Inc., for the engineering, procurement, and fabrication management of the NFE Fast LNG 2 project. The project is a nominal 1.4 million tonnes per annum LNG gas treating and liquefaction plant to be placed on fixed offshore platforms.
The Fast LNG 2 project is another offshore modular mid-scale LNG plant that NFE has awarded to Fluor this year. The first NFE Fast LNG 1 project was awarded in the first quarter of this year and is a similar modular mid-scale design being installed on repurposed drilling jack-up rigs. This modular plant will be installed by others and available for dispatch to various locations around the world providing NFE the opportunity to access multiple gas supply sources.

Samson  valves for an innovative hydrogen plant in Austria

SAMSON supplied the valves for an innovative hydrogen plant operated by Tyrol’s largest grocery store chain, MPREIS. The electrolysis system in Völs near Innsbruck, Austria is currently being put into service. The goal is to produce enough green hydrogen to fire up the ovens of the chain’s own Bäckerei Therese Mölk bakery and keep the truck fleet of the Tyrolean family business running.
SAMSON equips the H2 plant with state-of-the-art valve engineering Made in Germany. Co-financed by the EU as part of the Demo4Grid project, the system will initially stabilize the Austrian power grid. The first three MPREIS fuel cell trucks will also be the first of their kind in Austria, stopping at the chain’s very own H2 station to refuel.
