Sulzer  pumps for Danish flood defence project

Sulzer is the primary pump supplier for a major flood defence project being undertaken by Danish water utility Ringkøbing-Skjern Forsyning A/S.
Two new pumping stations are being built to mitigate the impact of rising water levels in the Ringkøbing Fjord in west Denmark.   Read More …….

Ebara  pumps for  Fukuoka pump station

Ebara has recently delivered three easy-maintenance/inspection vertical shaft mixed flow pumps to the Hakozaki Pump Station in Fukuoka, Japan.
The Hakozaki Pump Station was completed earlier this year to mitigate flood damage in the Hakozaki district.
The pumps have new configurations with the submerged bearings positioned on the lower part of the impeller. During maintenance, this eliminates work to pull up the pump for inspection and to disassemble the pump for bearing replacement. With heavy equipment such as a crane no longer required, maintenance times are shortened and costs reduced.

Weir wins £95mn mining  order in Australia

The Weir Group has secured a £95 million order to provide aftermarket components and service to the Iron Bridge magnetite project in Western Australia.
This aftermarket contract follows a record £100 million order that Weir won in 2019 for original equipment for the Iron Bridge project, including its Enduron High Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGRs).   Read More …….

Amarinth delivers API 610 VS4 pumps to Iraq

Amarinth has supplied four API 610 VS4 vertical pumps with Plan 53B seal support systems for Iraq’s Oil Train 5 Project, Garraf Oil Field Development.
The US$650 000 order was placed by China Petroleum Engineering Procurement & Construction (CPECC). This was the first time that CPECC had ordered from Amarinth.  

 Verder merges Packo and JEC brands

The Verder Group is bringing together its hygienic pump manufacturing companies Packo and JEC under the Packo name.
Packo manufactures hygienic centrifugal pumps while South Korea’s JEC produces rotary lobe pumps and twin-screw pumps.
JEC pumps will now be incorporated with Packo, offering a broader range of centrifugal, lobe and twin-screw pumps under the Packo name. Packo’s European Hub will ensure a faster delivery for JEC products. JEC’s lobe and twin-screw pumps will be fully integrated into Packo’s production standards.
The current headquarters in Belgium and South Korea will continue as centres of excellence for core hygienic technologies.  

Wilden celebrates 65th anniversary

Wilden, part of PSG, a Dover company, is celebrating 65 years of air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pump technology in 2020.
The company, which is based in Grand Terrace, California, USA, was founded in 1955 by Jim Wilden when he invented the AODD pump. Wilden became part of PSG in 2008, and now spans more than 160 countries with more than 180 distributors worldwide.

Lewa Norway sells  subsidiary to Ellingsen

Lewa GmbH has sold its Norwegian subsidiary Lewa Nikkiso Norway AS to Ellingsen Systems AS.
Ellingsen Systems will continue the branch office as a subsidiary under the name Pump Service AS. As part of the takeover, all ongoing contracts and customer and project obligations of Stavanger-based Lewa Nikkiso Norway AS have been transferred to Ellingsen.
Lewa established the Norwegian branch 11 years ago to better serve the Scandinavian market. There have been more than 1000 Lewa pumps installed in Norway alone, during the last 30 years.    

Ebara expands in Mexico

Japan’s Ebara Corp has set up a new company in Mexico for the assembly, sales and service of standard pumps.
Ebara Pumps Mexico SA de CV (EPMX) is based in Guadalupe, Nuevo León, and will be headed up by Kenichi Aoyama as president.
Under Ebara’s medium-term management plan “E-Plan2022”, the Japanese pump manufacturer is looking to increase sales in regions or countries with expected population growth and economic and industrial development.    

Franklin Electric Acquires Water Treatment Company

Franklin Electric announced that it has acquired Waterite Inc. and its affiliate Waterite America Inc., headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, in an all cash transaction.
Waterite is a residential and commercial water treatment products and services provider in Canada and the United States. Waterite’s consolidated annual sales are approximately USD $22 million.
Franklin Electric is a global leader in the production and marketing of systems and components for the movement of water and fuel.

Weir to sell Oil & Gas division to Caterpillar

The Weir Group plc has entered into an agreement to sell its Oil & Gas division to Caterpillar Inc for US$405 million.
Based in Fort Worth, Texas, USA and led by Paul Coppinger, Weir Oil & Gas provides pressure pumping and pressure control solutions and associated aftermarket spares, equipment repairs, upgrades, certification and asset management, and field services, to upstream markets.
The sale will transform Weir into a premium mining technology pure play operating through two divisions: Minerals and ESCO.  The deal is expected to be completed by the end of 2020, assuming normal regulatory clearances.
