Flowserve to provide pumps in UAE and Saudi Arabia
Flowserve Corp is to supply the main pumps for two large seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plants: Taweelah in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Rabigh-3 in Saudi Arabia.
The US company will provide more than 135 pumps, including key products such as high pressure (HP) pumps, HP and ERD boosters and second pass HP pumps to theTaweela and Rabigh-3 projects. Read More …….
Pfeiffer Vacuum expands in China
Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology has strengthened its presence in China by expanding its facility in Wuxi, China.
Double its original size, the expanded Wuxi plant allows Pfeiffer Vacuum to better respond to local customers’ needs while supporting the company’s strategic growth in the local coating and semiconductor markets.
Hidrostal supplies pumps for Dublin
Hidrostal has provided pumps for Irish Water’s €22.2 million upgrade at the Swords Wastewater Treatment plant in Dublin, Ireland.
Hidrostal supplied two new pumps to replace pumps that were installed over a decade ago. The new pumps are submersible screw centrifugal non-clog pumps installed in the inlet and storm chambers.
Amarinth provides API 610 pumps for UAE gas plant
Amarinth has designed, manufactured and delivered API 610 VS4 pumps for the Sajaa Gas Plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This was Amarinth’s first order from Lamprell, a UAE-based provider of fabrication, engineering and contracting services to the offshore and onshore oil & gas industry.
At Lamprell’s request, Amarinth also managed the appointment of the 3rd party non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection and certification of the 3.8m long closed drain pumps at its premises in the UK.
Alfa Laval awardedSEK50mn order
Alfa Laval has won a SEK50 million order to supply a process line for an edible oil plant in South East Asia.
The process line includes equipment such as steam boilers, heat exchangers and pumps to refine the edible oil.
Equipment deliveries are scheduled for 2020.
Andritz to provide pump turbines for power plant in Dubai
Andritz, as part of a consortium with the construction group Strabag, has signed a contract with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to supply and commission the entire electro- and hydro-mechanical equipment for the Hatta Pumped Storage Power Plant in the Hajar Mountains near Dubai.Under a contract worth more than E100 million, Andritz will provide the electromechanical equipment for two 125 MW Francis-type pump turbines with double-fed asynchronous generators and auxiliary systems. IRON Pump to supply Bahamas power plant
Danish company IRON Pump will provide specially designed pumps with motors from Hoyer Motors, to cool water for a new power plant in the Bahamas.
Four CLVS vertical turbine pumps with a capacity of 2,000 m3/h – 41 mlc will supply cooling water to the seven power plant motors, which will produce 132 megawatts combined. Read More …….
Hayward Tyler to provide pumps for fusion power research project
Hayward Tyler has been awarded a US$4.6 million contract to supply a canned-motor pump package to support US ITER, a Department of Energy Office of Science project managed by Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee.
ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) is a joint international research and development project with the goal of demonstrating the scientific and technical feasibility of fusion power.
Hayward Tyler’s canned motor pump package will be an integral part of the Vacuum Vessel Primary Heat Transport System (VV PHTS) and consists of four pumps that will be designed, built, and tested at Hayward Tyler Inc in Colchester, Vermont.
The pumps will be delivered to the ITER facility on behalf of the US ITER program.

Abel bags large order for high pressure plunger pumps
German pump manufacturer Abel GmbH has recently received an order for eight high pressure plunger pumps.
The customer, one of the biggest gas companies in Central Asia, will use the Abel plunger pumps for the high pressure injection of chemicals for gas scrubbing.
Abel high pressure pumps are single acting triplex plunger pumps. In addition to high pressure injection, the HP pumps can also be used to feed reverse osmosis systems and reactors.
Alfa Laval secures SEK165mn Framo pumping orders
Alfa Laval has won two orders, together worth SEK165 million, to supply Framo pumping systems for FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) vessels that are being built in China.
Booked in the Marine Division’s Pumping Systems unit, the orders comprise marine pumping systems for crude oil offloading, slop and ballast duties.
Deliveries are scheduled for 2020.
Weir wins record £100mn mining order in Australia
The Weir Group has won a £100 million order to provide mining equipment, including pumps, for the Iron Bridge Magnetite Project in Western Australia.
The order, which includes Enduron® high pressure grinding rolls and GEHO® pumps, will reduce energy consumption and wet tailings waste by more than 30% compared to traditional mining technologies.
Work on Kandla-Gorakhpur LPG pipeline project to commence in April 2020
IHB is planning to develop petroleum and petroleum products (LPG) pipeline network along Kandla (Gujarat) to Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh).
The project will also have a branch pipeline to Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) and Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) in length of 2,757 km with additional feeder line of Pipavav-Ahmedabad, Dahej-Koyali and associated branch line. Read More …….

Tamil Nadu Govt to establish desalination plant worth Rs 6,078 cr
The Government of Tamil Nadu has accorded administrative sanction to establish 400 MLD capacity sea water reverse osmosis desalination plant at Perur in Thiruporurblock of Kancheepuram district.
The project will see an investment to the tune of Rs 6,078.40 crore. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide financial assistance for the project.
The funding pattern comprises Rs 4,267.70 crore assistance from JICA, Rs 749.60 crore from the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Fund (TNIDF) and state budgetary support of Rs 1,061.10 crore. The project will be completed by 2024.
